Honed
A totally smooth, flat, level surface that reveals the true colouring of the materials without the shine and detail of a polished finish.
This finishing is very much in fashion, and is considered to be very cosy and comfortable.
Sawn
After the blocks have been extracted, they are sawn into slabs of varying thicknesses.
The effect of this finish is close to the raw material after sawing, with makes it more economic.
It is also much in use for exteriors because of its natural tone, since the colour is neither intensified nor dulled.
Shot blasted
This finish makes the surface rough and non-slip, thus making it suitable for exteriors, yet it is smooth enough for flooring.
This finish dulls the colour of the materials, making them whiter.
Polished A totally smooth and flat surface that highlights the colour of materials and their characteristics (veining, grain etc).
Its shiny effect imparts class and style and highlights the beauty of the material.
Flamed
This effect is achieved by subjecting the stone to high temperatures.
Not all materials can be used to create this effect.
It is non-slip and smooth enough for flooring, although there may be some slight irregularities in the surface.
The colour is bright with variations in tone due to the relief.
Tooled This finish gives a unique textured effect that requires more production time which makes it more costly.
